Motor Vehicle Claims

You may not be maximising your motor vehicle claims if you do not have a vehicle tax logbook. This could be costing you thousands! If you wish to rely on the logbook method to claim your vehicle costs in your tax return, a logbook is required to be completed for a minimum 12 week period for vehicles that are not "commercial" vehicles as defined under tax legislation. Without a valid tax logbook, one of the other 3 methods must be used to make a claim.

If you use your "commercial" vehicle for a mixture of personal and business use, you will be required to complete a logbook unless your personal trips in your vehicle are "minor and infrequent".
