Donating to Charities

From time to time we all donate to a charity or two. This time of year you may be thinking of donating to a charity for a good cause and at the same time minimising your tax or increasing your refund. It is important to the donor that the money donated is used for the purpose it was made. Therefore before you make a donation, you might like to visit www.acnc.gov.au to ensure the charity is registered. For a donation to be deductible, it must be made to a charity registered as a deductible gift recipient (DGR). To check if the charity is a DGR, visit www.abr.business.gov.au and type in the charity's ABN or contact Jamieson Accounting Services Pty Ltd and we can do the search for you.
